The Global Vaccination Summit 2026 took a region-specific approach to explore differences in income levels, population needs, regulatory environments, and practice challenges, with a focus on the critical intersection between vaccination, prevention, and the growing burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs). This report summarises the insights from the discussions, signifying an increasingly clear and expanded role for pharmacists in integrating NCD care into pharmacy-based vaccination.
Supporting pharmacists in vaccination communication: A toolkit for pharmacists (2026)
Effective communication is central to pharmacists’ capacity to support vaccination uptake. This toolkit has been developed to support pharmacists in their communication role within vaccination programmes. It focuses on strengthening pharmacists’ capacity to communicate effectively about vaccines with different audiences, including patients, the public, and other healthcare professionals with whom they collaborate.

In light of the expanding role of pharmacists and the growing reliance on pharmacies as vaccination providers, a
comprehensive understanding of vaccination training is essential. This report provides an overview of the current global provision of vaccination training for pharmacists and pharmacy students worldwide, as well as identifying key barriers and priority training needs.

Call for Action: Life course immunisation strategy – A seamless approach to protection across all ages and risk groups
Vaccination serves as the most effective and foundational pillar of infection prevention at all life stages. A comprehensive lifecourse immunisation strategy which includes concrete targets for maternal immunisation, and their infant protection, adolescents, all individuals in clinical groups at risk, and older adults’ vaccination coverage against respiratory infections is of significant importance. This Call for Action articulates a shared vision of a Europe where every person is protected from vaccine-preventable diseases at every stage of life. It aims to strengthen population resilience across the life course by reducing avoidable reliance on reactive healthcare and advancing preventive, value-based approaches that enable individuals to sustain health, autonomy, and self-direction.

Many countries currently do not have pharmacy-based vaccination (PBV) services and are seeking to amend legislation to enable them. Others, where PBV is already established, are looking to expand pharmacists’ roles or optimise implementation.
Drawing on data from FIP’s vaccination surveillance and lessons across different country contexts and legislative stages, this toolkit provides practical strategies and policy options for expanding PBV at various levels of maturity and implementation.

FIP Global Vaccination Summit 2025 – Key outcomes and policy recommendations for pharmacy-based vaccination
Building on the success of the inaugural summit in 2024, key discussions and outcomes from the 2025 FIP Global Vaccination Summit are shared in this report. The summit focused on expanding pharmacist-led vaccination services and supporting equitable access to immunisation through pharmacy practice. Structured around four strategic pillars — workforce and education, policy and regulation, service delivery, and public trust and uptake — the report highlights key insights, challenges, and recommended actions that emerged from the event.
